ASA Philippines launches first phase of ASA Mobile App, providing nanay clients with easier access to their accounts

ASA Philippines Foundation, one of the country’s leading microfinancing institutions, recently launched the first phase of the ASA Mobile App to help its over 2.4 million entrepreneurial nanay clients view and access their ASA accounts.

Fifty nanay clients from Quezon City, Pasig City, and Taguig City attended the launch and demonstration at ASA’s Central Office at Park Triangle Corporate Center in Bonifacio Global City last July 17.

Imelda Centeno, ASA Philippines Chief Operating Officer and Chief Transformation Officer, said the app is more than a digital advancement , but a testament to ASA’s commitment to serving its nanay clients better.

“The ASA Mobile App is more than technology. It is a bridge — connecting the warmth of our center meetings to the convenience of digital access. Ibig sabihin nito, hindi na kailangang hintayin ni nanay ang susunod na meeting para malaman ang kanyang balanse, subaybayan ang kanyang mga pagbabayad, o maunawaan ang kanyang progresong pinansyal,” said Ms. Centeno.

Ms. Centeno added that more than the convenience the nanay clients will enjoy with the app, it won’t replace the genuine connections they have with the microfinance officers who guided them through their financial journey.

“Ang app na ito ay ginawa para sa inyo, ngunit higit sa lahat binuo ito ayon sa aming pagkaunawa sa inyong mga pangangailangan at pangarap tungo sa pag-unlad ng inyong buhay. Ang bawat feature ng app ay idinesenyo upang bigyan kayo ng higit na control, higit na kalinawan, at higit na kumpiyansa sa pamamahala ng inyong sariling kinabukasang pang pinansyal,”she said.

“To our field employees, you remain the heartbeat of ASA. No app can replace the trust you have built. This tool is here to support you — to give you more time to do what you do best: uplift, guide, and walk alongside our nanays.”

Manuelito Martinez, Head of ASA’s Operations System and Performance Analytics, demonstrated the key features of the app now available on Android’s Google Play Store.

With every nanay client in attendance downloading the app on their smartphones, they saw firsthand how the ASA Mobile App delivered financial transparency, convenience, security, and empowerment.

Nanay clients can view a digital version of their ASA passbook, loan information, personal information, credit score, and whether they are eligible to avail of another loan or product.

ASA Chief Field Operations Officer Nilo Cellon, Jr. said the launch of the ASA Mobile App is a “huge milestone” for the organization as it strengthens its services in uplifting Filipino families out of poverty.

Currently, the ASA App is being rolled out initially in four branches across Taytay, Antipolo City, and Quezon City – enabling nanay clients in these areas to access their accounts online – view their savings, active financing, transaction history and payment performance score.
